Ride for Climate a.k.a. The Green Ride

06/07/2008 - 8:30am
06/07/2008 - 1:00pm

This ride will promote discussion of Global Warming with a tour
of Green initiatives in Chicago. See recycling, wind turbines,
solar panels, permeable alleys, bumpouts, roundabouts, gardens
replacing concrete, a riverbank reclaimed by citizens,
car-sharing, our state-of-the-art bicycle station and much
more. It will take a long time since we will stop to talk about
the projects we encounter and about Global Warming. Contact
Kathy Schubert at (773) 248-5499 All who finish the ride will
receive a compact fluorescent bulb courtesy of the Chicago
Dept. of the Environment. All who get to the half way point
with us will receive a free Larabar, organic fruit from
Stanley’s, salad dressing from Annie’s Naturals and Peace
Coffee (which is delivered by bike in Minneapolis/St. Paul.)
