Ever wanted to experiment in new cuisines, or visit a part of the city you've never been to? Or perhaps this is a personal favorite that hasn't been visited in a while?

Come join us on a ride to Devon Street on the far N. side of the city. Experience the splendors of S. Central Asia when we ride our bikes to the charming Indian Garden restaurant (http://tinyurl.com/err5u) for lunch in the heart of this exotic Indian/Pakistani neighborhood. The sights and smells of Devon are intriguing. Incredible jewelry stores, unusual groceries, interesting sari shops... You'd swear you are in a different country!

Meet at the dinosaur out front of the Field Museum (NW corner) at 10:30am. We will ride to Devon Street, spending some time investigating this interesting neighborhood before settling down for the meal. The Indian Garden has all sorts of traditional fare, including vegetarian and Vegan choices. Return ride should get us back around 2:30pm, but don't hold me to that time. If you need to get back earlier, you can always head out separately or take the red line or brown line 'el' home.

Pace is decent (around 10 mph), but we will cater to the group if needed. This is a social ride, not a training ride. Total distance will be around 24 miles round trip. Don't be scared off by the length. (You will be resting during the meal. And remember you can ride the ~12 miles to Devon, then take the 'el' back to the Field Museum or to home.)

The ride goes off rain or shine, so dress appropriately. If in doubt, dress in layers. Due to the interesting things for sale on Devon, be sure to bring a backpack, panniers or a basket to carry goodies home that you can't live without.

Meet at the feet of the Brachiosaurus on the NW corner of the terrace of the Field Museum. The views of the city can be spectacular, so think about bringing a camera.
