Event Description:
Join Kathy 'n Joey for a tour of fancy fences on the North Side.  We start at the Waveland Clock Tower at 10:00 AM on Saturday, May 6, 2006.The ride is 28 miles long and we will ride at a pace of 10 to 14 mph.  Helmets are required.    FREE  but bring money for snacks.    This ride was inspired by a spectacular fence featuring fish, butterflies and flowers.   Finding the other fences made it possible to cover some distance on our bikes and make some new friends. Male riders are welcome to ride, but they must also wear helmets.     

Location:
Start at Waveland Clock Tower in Lincoln Park - 3700 North on the lake - east of the tennis courts.   The ride is all on the North Side.

Self Defence Classes for women and women cyclists in particular. Learn to use your senses for safe riding and walking. Wear loose fit clothing. No skirts. RSVP Cigdem: cido67@yahoo.com, Ed Perry: perrye1813@comcast.net $10 per session, $30 for 4. Class and space provided by Ed Perry, a certified Martials Arts Instructor. Class will last about 1 hour.

Learn to adjust your own brakes, so your bike will be safe and effective.  New cables and housing can be purchased at West Town Bikes.  If you'd like to replace your brake pads, please bring them with you.  It's best to bring your own bike to work on, though you can learn about brakes even if you don't have a bike.  Hydraulic and disc brakes will not be covered.  Instructor: Kristin.  $5 donation requested to cover the cost of the space.  Women only.
